About Wayne Coleman

Wayne Coleman, principal in Coleman Consulting, is a former Federal employee who has more than thirty years of experience in the field of Federal pay with a particular focus in the areas of premium and overtime pay, and related compensation issues.

He has written policy and guidance materials for various Federal agencies. He has designed and delivered numerous well received training sessions since 1988 for audiences that have included Federal managers, human resource specialists, human resource assistants, and employees.

Wayne’s experience includes resolving questions and issues related to both white collar and blue collar employees. He has assisted Federal agencies covered by the standard Federal pay systems, such as the General Schedule (GS) and the Federal Wage System (FWS); by non-standard Federal pay systems, such as broad banded and pay for performance systems; and by special provisions that cover Federal law enforcement officers.

He has been employed by or presented training at dozens of Federal agencies. His work has been recognized by the former Classification and Compensation Society, by colleagues and peers, and by those who have attended training sessions he has presented.

Wayne received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado. In his leisure time he has been a collector of transportation tokens and a streetcar driver and conductor, and enjoys traveling to faraway places like Egypt and India. Additionally he is an amateur genealogist and has been researching his family’s history for about forty years.
